Four distinct briefs. The DS Series is the frameless, edge-to-edge glass flagship — single or double-sided, made for architectural new builds. The DF Series is the renovator’s fire, engineered to retrofit into an existing brick chimney or replace a wood burner. The NB Series is the single-sided all-front-heat option — no complex ducting, simpler installs, still Escea’s signature look. The NX Series is the double-sided version of the NB, ideal for connecting two rooms without a full DS-scale build.

Single-sided suits most rooms — the fire sits against a wall as a visual anchor to the main living space. Double-sided fires are for when there’s a wall between two rooms you want to visually connect, or when you want the fireplace to float as a room divider in an open-plan space. Double-sided models are also stunning behind a kitchen island or between a living and dining zone. Options include Splitwood and Driftwood (realistic freshly-cut log looks), Traditional Logs, NZ River Rock (Escea’s signature — actual river stones from Egmont National Park sampled by the founders), Volcanic Rock in natural or black, Woodland Selection, and crushed glass for a fully modern look. Yes. Escea Smart Heat connects the fire to your home network and gives you full control from a smartphone app — ignition, temperature setting, fan speed and timers. On a cold winter drive home, you can have the fire on and the room warm before you walk in the door. Smart Heat is standard across the DS, DF and DL Series and integrates with most home management systems.
